Public Abstract

Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms GRC, Hotel Galvez, Galveston TX, March 1-6, 2015

Principal investigator: Paul J. Chirik

The 2015 Gordon Conference on Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms will present cutting-edge research on the molecular aspects of inorganic reactions involving elements from throughout the periodic table and state-of-the art techniques that are used in the elucidation of reaction mechanisms. The Conference will feature a wide range of topics, such as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, enzymatic reactions, electron-transfer related to energy transformation, polymerization, sustainable chemistry in industry, carbon dioxide conversion, electrochemistry, green chemistry, oxidation, biomass and solar energy conversion and hydrocarbon functionalization. The lectures will span themes of current interest including energy, materials, bioinorganic, and environmental science. Integration of experiment, spectroscopy and theory will also be an emphasis. The Conference will bring together a collection of diverse and international investigators who are at the forefront of their field, and will provide opportunities for junior scientists and graduate students to present their work in poster format and exchange ideas with leaders in the field. The meeting will feature 22 invited speakers in nine sessions and is expected to attract more than 150 international participants from the fields of inorganic chemistry, organometallics, renewable energy, materials, and catalysis.
